Barefaced Bass Logo

Maximum Tone - Maximum Output - Minimum Weight

This is not just putting speakers in a box, making them look nice and then adding some marketing hype
This is the result of a tone obsessed musician using his engineering background to design the ultimate bass cab

Big One and Compact

Three simple questions:

  • What sound do I want?
  • How loud do I need to be?
  • How small does my rig need to be?

SOUND - TONE - VIBE

If you want tight but solid lows, punchy mids and smooth top then check out The Compact. If want huge deep bottom, incredible midrange detail and extended yet natural highs then check out The Big Series. If you want more midrange aggression and less bottom than The Compact then check out The Midgets

VOLUME - SPL - OUTPUT - LOUDNESS

If you have an amp that can push about 200W into an 8 ohm load then The Compact will be loud enough for all but the rockingest drummers. If you need to go louder than this then you have two choices: The Vintage - basically The Compact doubled up but in a form-factor to suit sitting under big valve headsor get a more powerful amp. If you have an amp that can push about 300W into an 6 ohm load then The Big One will play loud - if this is more loudness than you need then consider The Big Baby instead.

SIZE - WEIGHT - PORTABILITY

The Compact isn't just compact - it's a really nice shape to carry. If it's still too big for you then consider The Midget. The Midget does sound aggressive and bottom-shy with your EQ flat but if you turn up those lows and mellow out those mids it will provide more big fat bottom-end goodness than any other equally small cab you can buy. The Big Baby is the same size and shape as The Compact but marginally heavier. The Big One is a few inches taller, deeper and wider than the Compact - similar to a 4x10" in size but extremely light, a much more sensible shape and with wheels and three convenient handles. The extra handles and the tiltback casters make it hilariously easy to move. The Vintage is tall and wide but shallow - it easily fits in the backseat of most cars and is remarkably easy to move around despite looking so big and mean onstage - roll it everywhere and where you encounter some stairs or need to lift it into your car revel in the amazingly low weight.

Contact us, we are here to help!

We at Barefaced realise it is a big decision when you change your amplification - this gear isn't cheap and some of what we say will be counter-intuitive if you've spent years believing the commons myths like "tens sound like this, twelves sound like that and fifteens sound like t'other". Have a good look through this site, there are tons of resources on here to help you choose the right cab. And then email us and ask for our advice.

New models!

If you've been on here before you may have noticed that there's a whole range of new models - some of these are only in the pre-production stages. As it stands we are currently producing The Compact, The Vintage and The Big One. Come June we will have a few Compacts actually in stock - shock, we've caught up with the waiting list. We'll also have one Vintage in stock - first come, first served! And we're taking reservations for the next batch of Big Ones and the first of the 12" cabs - the Midget, Double Midget, and Big Baby, ETA early July.

Please form an orderly queue!

Generally delivery times are about one month, but if we have a cab in stock you can have it much more quickly. Please contact us find out what's available now or to reserve a cab from the current production run and once your cab is being built we will contact you with an anticipated delivery date so you can arrange payment. Should you not be wholly satisfied with your cab it may be returned to us within 14 days for a full refund* - no trying these cabs in a shop and finding out they don't work on the gig. Use the trial period to give your cab a true workout so you can be confident it will provide you with tone and volume for years to come.
